Morning MarketsTF
Equity markets were a sea of red across Asia today with sharp falls in Tokyo Hong Kong Seoul and Sydney driven largely by the slide on Wall Street on Thursday. Meanwhile China is taking steps to manage financial risks as it hopes to avoid a repeat of past crises that mark their anniversary this year: the 1997 Asian financial crisis and the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis in the US.

From the FloorTF
Funds are cutting their record commodities exposure ahead of an expected March interest-rate increase in the US, and especially silver prices were whacked on Thursday. Equities were in broad retreat in the US, while the US dollar's strength broadened, with commodity and emerging-market currencies faltering on the latest surge of Fed rate-hike expectations.
